Historical Flight Foundation DC-7B, N836D, Opa-locka airport, Miami, Florida on June 19th, 2009. This is the first engine start at the end of a 5 year restoration. The airplane is expected to tour the US in the future conducting "Living History" flights.

I flew this? aircraft from Louisville to Tampa back in 1961; it sure seemed like a big plane to a little boy at that time.

dam those props r scary..they could chop? u up in an instant.

it looks like a 1/ ...
it looks like a 1/48 or 1/50 aluminum raise up model in SAS livery. wings do not detach. The paintwork is chippd quite badly and yellowed. There are few dents on the wing tips (on the flap edges),and a 1/4 inch x1/16 dent on the nose. I want restored to AA colors keeping the original aluminum body (dont want? body painted gray or silver).

Thanks for the kudos. The DC-6, DC-4, AND another DC-7B are all freighters that are operated by Florida Air Transport. Same crews will be flying the? Eastern DC-7B

I last flew N836D ...
I last flew N836D on July 23, 1965 BAL to JFK. We had spent 2 days on it originating from DCA the day before to STL with a layover. Thank goodness for Log Books to refresh one's memory! My last flight on DC-7B's was a few days later? on N838D and then went over to the Boeing 727.

Great going you guys down there in Miami. Reminds me of my days as FE on that bird back in the 1960's! Many hours? looking at the engine analyzer and passing coffee up to the Captain and Co-pilot! Many oil spots on my shirt too!
